HEIC to JPG

HEIC (Apple's High Efficiency Image Format) isn't decodable by any major browser's built-in image handling — converting it client-side would require bundling a dedicated, fairly heavy decoding library, which this tool doesn't include. Uploading a HEIC file here shows a clear explanation rather than silently failing.

On iPhone: Settings > Camera > Formats > "Most Compatible" makes new photos save as JPG directly, or use Share > Export as JPEG on an existing photo. On Mac: open the photo in Preview and use File > Export, choosing JPEG. On Windows: a tool like IrfanView (with the HEIC plugin) can open and convert HEIC files.

It's a real possibility if a lightweight, reliable client-side HEIC decoder becomes practical to bundle — for now, we'd rather be upfront about the limitation than pretend to convert a file we can't actually read.
