Frequently Asked Questions
Sequences of 2 or more letters (a-z, case-insensitive) — single letters, numbers, and punctuation-only tokens are excluded from the frequency count.
A fixed list of about 40 very common short English words (the, and, for, are, but, was, has, etc.) is excluded so the results highlight meaningful content words instead of filler.
The tool ranks all unique words by frequency but displays only the top 20 — the total and unique word counts shown at the top still reflect the full text.
The word-matching pattern only recognizes plain a-z letters, so accented characters and non-Latin scripts (e.g. café,日本語) won't be picked up as words.
